Location Unknown
The 3 photos in the above gallery cool not be identified, and were each labelled as 'Location unknown', but a recent email we received (see below) has identified them as being out of our area. Many thanks to Mr Warrington for solving the mystery and providing such great detail.
I can provide some information on the three "unknown location" photographs on your website as follows:
01 - This is the very top end of the Eastern Valleys Line above Blaenavon Low Level station and shows a BR (ex-GWR) 64xx class 060PT in the sidings. Blaenavon Low Level station was off to the right.
02 - This shows BR (ex-GWR) 42xx class 280T No 5234 entering Blaenavon High Level station on the Brynmawr & Blaenavon Line, with empty wagons for Big Pit.
03 - This photo is of BR (ex-GWR) 060PT No 6427 at Govilon station on the ex-LNWR Merthyr Tredegar & Abergavenny Line, on a Merthyr-bound passenger train.
Best regards
Alastair Warrington (ex-BR)
